A Returning Client Experience

A grounded review that adds a different angle without repeating the others.

“I came back for a second workshop after the first one last year. This time I brought a colleague who works at a community centre in Mitchells Plain. We wanted to see if the format would work for a group of teenagers with no prior art experience.

The session was structured the same way as before — a short history talk, then hands-on tile cutting and layout. The instructor adjusted the pace when she noticed some of us were slower. That made a difference. By the end, we had two small panels to take back to the centre.

What stood out was the follow-up. A week later we received a PDF with tips on sourcing affordable materials and a simple lesson plan. That kind of practical support is why I returned. It is not just a one-off class — there is an intention to help you continue on your own.

The only reason I am not giving full marks is the venue. It is a bit cramped for more than eight people, and the ventilation could be better when using adhesives. But for a small group it works fine.”
